ProQuest have announced eBook title changes to our Academic Complete subscription which will take effect from 22 June 2016.
Publishers regularly review the rights aggregators have to providing access to eBook titles. This has consequences for our demand-driven acquisitions (DDA) profile with EBL and it’s a similar situation with Academic Complete.
ProQuest have sent us a file of titles that will be removed so we can review these and see if there is anything we would like to make available in other ways (for example by purchasing to own).
Wendy and I have put together a few notes on this – our thought is to follow our DDA guide by going ahead and purchasing any titles that have seen more than four uses. Any other titles with 1-4 uses to be added into our DDA profile with EBL, where this is available.
Liaison librarians may be interested in reviewing other titles which haven’t seen any use in case you see anything you’re aware of that we should be making available by outright purchase or DDA.
