As promised earlier this month, discussions continue on the ideas and suggestions raised in the two organisational culture meetings in June. Library managers meeting today discussed ideas we could implement now and we can report the following:
- Helen is organizing voluntary Myers Briggs and communication skills training for staff
- We’ve put forward the idea of an informal “park bench” type session with the VC and this has been pencilled in for 22nd September – more details to come
- Managers are looking at ways of participating and observing in front line service. This has started in a couple of ways (LAWS 202 tutorial this week and during the power cut last Thursday). Further ideas and suggestions are welcomed
- Alison M will set up an anonymous online ideas form on Camelot by the end of next week. Feedback will be collated each month and tabled at team meetings for discussion
- Drop in morning teas – Anne accompanied by other managers round each library starting August
- The next Library staff forum in August will include food!
- We’re looking for a volunteer or volunteers to interview Anne each month and report back on Counterculture – any takers?
