Hi to all the AskLIVE staffers out there

Due to repeated prank chats from a particular IP address (122.56.90.17), who has made over 15 prank “queries” over the space of at least 10 different days in the past couple of months, LibraryH3lp (our AskLIVE vendors) have blocked this IP from AskLIVE until the end of September.

In practical terms,  they can still send messages but we won’t see them come through to the AskLIVE queue (less than ideal, but the only solution on offer by LibraryH3lp).  As this block only applies to one IP address, if the person uses another computer/device, they will still get through to us.  If you notice more prank messages coming through, and the standard 24 hour patron blocks do not deter them, please let e-services know and we’ll ask LibraryH3lp to block them for a longer period.
