Kia ora, koutou.
The latest draft of the Library Values is up on the K Drive.
K:\LIBR-Library\Management\Planning\Libr-Values-2015-2016\Values-Final-Revision-2016-08-DRAFT.docx
In the feedback sessions, there were some questions about who the ‘we’ in the drafts refers to. The we in this document is us collectively as a library, but as the values can only be enacted by individuals, the aim is that each of us can change the we to I and enact the behaviours within the values.
The values team is meeting with Ripeka next week to discuss this draft, before taking it to a meeting with Anne and Joan.
We still welcome your feedback, so if you have any comments or questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with me, Fiona Tyson or Caroline Syddall.
Ngā mihi,
Lisa.
Think the revisions are excellent and fully agree with the suggested changes to
this page http://library.canterbury.ac.nz/about/mission.shtml
Thanks for your feedback Helen!
Agree with Helen and those changes.
Thank you Rā!
I support the revised changes, which feel positive and authentic. Thanks to the team who worked on this.
Thanks for your feedback Jo!
Good work. Are there going to be more all staff meetings to discuss these? Or did I miss them? Will they be “signed off” after the meeting with Anne and Joan?
Kia ora, Erin.
It’s my understanding that we will definitely be presenting the values to staff before they are officially “signed off”.
If you have any edits or suggestions at any stage of the process, please let us know!
Thank you for your feedback,
Lisa.
Great work. I like the way the values tie in with Ngā Awa e Rua.
Thank you Caroline, Fiona and Lisa – these are values that feel authentic and that we can live by. I paused for a bit over the statement of our core work (in the context paragraph) but on reflection I think that you have captured our purpose beautifully – equitable outcomes, for the various communities that come together through UC or that UC has a responsibility to and throughout time, past, present and future.
