Hi all.
We have ascertained that most of the etxt programs that send out text notification have been geared up to check if libraries are closed as exceptions and do not run if that is the case. Normally this is ok as we tend to all be closed together over the Christmas break etc. but MB was closed last week while everyone else was open and this meant etxt notification didn’t go out. The program that sends out emailed hold notifications for items that go on hold after the notices have run also has a similar check and did not run 4-5th January. Some people may have missed their hold notifications.
We are going to tweak the programming so that it will more accurately work out if ALL libraries are closed (or just ignore the fact we are closed and still run) and this shouldn’t happen again in future.
NB: Recalls will not happen when central library is closed so there would have been no recalls to notify of until Wednesday 4th Jan so we only missed 3 days of etxt notification. Most people will still have got email notices though not all.
