Week of the Geek is almost upon us and you have the chance to join the events under the guise of ‘working’.
Promote, promote, promote: Whenever you get the chance, make sure to tell students about the awesome events that are on next week: puppies, treasure hunts, games, movies and zombie runs. They can sign up for the treasure hunt and zombie run through the webpage (linked)
Volunteer: We need people to help almost every day. In particular,
- Marshals on the treasure hunt (Tuesday 21 March 12:30-3pm): when I say ‘marshal’ I mean co-ordinating book-on-head races, playing librarian vs student jenga games or the more routine ‘Here’s your next clue’ marshalling. Up to you:)
- Teach/play board/controller games with students (Thursday 23 March 1-4pm)- ah, such a terrible task to volunteer for (and don’t worry if you don’t know the games. There will be training)!
- Marshals in the zombie run (Friday 24 March 12:30-3pm).
So, email myself or Brian McElwaine before somebody else gets in first to take part in Week of the Geek, letting us know when you’re free and what you’d like to volunteer for.
Geek on:)
