Wednesday Waiata Singing

Kia ora koutou,

Observant amongst you may have noticed an initiative in the Operational Plan to establish a Learning Resources waiata group (OP 6.2). The Māori Development Team (MDT) do not have capacity right now for a specifically LR waiata group but have kindly invited us to join with them on Wednesday mornings 11.00 – 12.00 in Room 208, Te Ao Marama for waiata practice.

Please note – this Wednesday 12th April is Māori graduation so there won’t be a waiata practice as all of The Māori Development Team (MDT) will be there.

Obviously not everyone will be able to up sticks and head off to Te Ao Marama every Wendesday so please check in with your colleagues to make sure that everyone who wants to gets to go sometimes. If you can’t come along every week you’ll be made very welcome on the days that you can.

The idea is to develop confidence in a repertoire of waiata and that the group may be called upon to support speakers at UC hosted events. It’s always good to bring staff together from across departments, it signals our support for bicultural development and it’s fun.
