BookNight reportback.

We had a great time doing our relaxing reading down on level 3 last night – some of us didn’t want to go home! Huge thanks to all involved for organising ideas, display, free giveaway books, lots of marketing and coming along to read.

We were privileged to have Felicity read to us –  with Hairy Maclary and the excitement of all the dogs meeting Scarface Claw, then Slinky Malinki out and about in the neighbourhood. Thanks very much, Felicity. I hope we can have you read to us again.

I experienced a deja vu moment reminding me of listening to another skilled reader, Robert Erwin (many years ago now).

(In related news , Anton and I have been talking about starting  a bedtime story time for students…)

BDS say that there were 45 events and 2,222 people registered as reading across New Zealand last night. There are some good photos uploaded if you like seeing other people reading 🙂

  1. Oh man, I’m so disappointed I (and Tommy) missed out on Felicity reading Hairy Maclary:(

Hopefully, next year my lectures won’t clash with Booknight!

  2. Angela took a phone call tonight from Megan at the Book Discussion Group thanking us for hosting an event here, and I have emailed them a couple of photos – no names attached.
