This is an invitation from the local NDF coordinator – the event is open to everyone.
The Canterbury / West Coast Regional Digital Forum is happening on 24 October 2017 at the Te Hāpua: Halswell Centre. The Regional Digital Forum is a meet up for those involved in any way with creating or using digital innovation within GLAM and Tech sectors. It is a chance to connect with people doing innovative projects within galleries, libraries, archives and museums and learn where our sector is heading as we face the digital future. It’s a free event and you can register here: https://goo.gl/Nm77ad
What is it?
Our regions have many cultural institutions and individuals involved in wide range of digital activities, from digitising collections to using new technologies for public programming and many other things. Each year many of these assemble in Wellington for a national digital forum, but not everyone can get to this event. We still need input and colleagues to bounce ideas and problems off though, so a one day regional digital forum is great for you or for that someone on your staff who could benefit.
The forum is run as an unconference where we plan out sessions on the day. Bring your questions, suggestions, ideas for discussion topics and an open mind. You don’t need to be an expert but we want everybody to take part and contribute to the discussion.
Who is it for?
Anyone who works anywhere in the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums), anyone who produces digital media projects for this sector (web developers, app makers etc) or anyone with an interest in these areas.
