The farewell to Te Puna Ako yesterday was lovely, and rightly so. The Henry Field Library has played an important part in many lives.

Something that will not be receiving a sad farewell is Macmillan Brown’s behemoth of a service desk. Tomorrow it is going to be ripped out and sent, we don’t care where. Picture of the monstrosity is below.

We are also getting new carpet! But only in half the Library at this stage which means we can stay open, operating out of the Aotearoa Room. If you are sending anyone our way give them the heads up, not to be scared off by all the workmen.

The works should be done by this Saturday so come over next week and check out our new look!
