It’s that time of year again where we can reflect on a job well done and look forward to a break and the start of a new year. And while reflecting what would be more rewarding than recognising the actions, attributes and contributions of your colleagues.
At this years Christmas function we would like to present some awards (categories below) and encourage you to nominate your peers. Please send these to aaron.cumming@canterbury.ac.nz and feel free to provide additional support such as pictures or you may wish to show how they have demonstrated our Library Values. Nominations need to be received no later then midday on Tuesday 5th December.

- Bright Idea award
- Dark Horse award
- Golden Tape award (measuring tape)
- Way with Words Award
- Gunga Din award
- Presenter of the Year award
Um asking for a friend, what are all of the categories looking for?
Brian I have put a brief description, for your friend, below.
Volunteer of the Year
A person(s) that has volunteered to complete something and made a significant difference. It could be a single or multiple events.
•Bright Idea award
A person(s) that generated and idea that was implemented and had a positive outcome.
•Dark Horse award
A person with a hidden talent or hobbie than may not be obvious in their career choice.
•Golden Tape award (measuring tape)
A person(s) with a talent for making things fit physically or successfully completed a project.
•Way with Words Award
Basically communication is key here, no matter what the media.
•Gunga Din award
The traditional going the extra mile award.
•Presenter of the Year award
As the title suggests any presentation that has left its mark.
If unsure just leave the nomination without a category and we will find one to place it into.
