There are currently 2x assignments using the art collection on public display underway this week. If you see students who seem to be wandering aimlessly around the library looking at the art – it could be them!

ARTH217 – Kiwi Icons – research and write a catalogue entry on an art work from a building list (Mechanical & Civil Eng, Karl Popper, Business & Law, Central Library, Macmillan Brown Library).

ARTH330 – Medium and Materiality – write a short essay considering an art work on public display in relation to issues of medium and/or materiality. Building list from Central Library, Macmillan Brown Library, EPS Library.

There are 2x art works on L5 of the Central Library that have been listed as part of the assignments. (Whakapapa by Kura Te Waru-Rewiri & Stars, Hearts, Heads and Knives by Tony de Lautour.
