Kia ora koutou,
It has been almost a year since Max passed away, and his widow Clare is raising funds for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand by walking the Camino in Max’s memory. A message from Clare below:
“Hi Everybody,
In September I am doing a fundraising walk in Spain on the Camino on behalf of The Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Blood Cancer NZ. I need your support!
As many of you will know, Max loved walking. One of his wishes was to return to Spain and walk the Camino with me, once we had settled into our new life in Waitati.
I am going on this walk in his memory, taking his new walking poles with me and raising funds before I go, for the LBC Foundation NZ.
Max had a CNS Lymphoma Brain Tumour. I see this as an opportunity to help other families who need support when given difficult diagnoses. None of us know when we might have to face abrupt changes in our circumstances. Part of my healing is to participate on this journey.
I appreciate any support you can give as well.”
If you would like to support Clare, you can donate here.
Ngā mihi,
Sara
