Kia ora koutou
We have had a couple of reports from students that have received phishing emails (e.g. below) apparently from the library asking people to renew their library accounts.
We have reported this to IT who are looking into it. The link takes people to our actual remote access login screen so looks very authentic. If you get reports from students please ask them to forward the spam email as an attachment to eservices@libr.canterbury.ac.nz – this will give us the information about email sender that doesn’t come through with a standard email forward.
If anyone has clicked on the link and entered their details they should change their account password. Send username details to us so we can keep an eye on attempts to login with them (we can also block access to the username that will automatically clear when the user changes their IT account password).
