Marketing Update

Kia ora koutou,

here is your monthly update from the Library Marketing Group – enjoy 🙂

Facebook – Did you know that there are monthly UC wide Social Media meetings that talk about our different experiences and provides some tips and tricks from the UC Comms team? If you ever wanted to attend one of these sessions, let Rā or Fiona know.  For example one thing that was talked about at a recent meeting was data regarding social media use in NZ. This slide show is very useful: https://www.slideshare.net/wearesocial/digital-in-2018-in-oceania-part-2-east (Flick to slide 69 to get the UC-specific data). Also some interest stats, this year alone from 1st Jan we have had our FB posts reach 2,589,334 people and grown our number of ‘likes’ or followers by 1,143 people.

Insiders Guide – We are always looking for content to promote the Libraries and different areas within these that are for a student audience. Here is an example of the blogs that staff in the Library write – this one courtesy of Hannah https://blogs.canterbury.ac.nz/insiders/2018/09/07/pacific-languages-in-the-library/

Twitter –  Did you know our Twitter underwent a rebranding initiative to become more targeted towards postgraduate students, academics and library professionals? Since adding a research flavour to the UC Twitter Account, we have seen a marked increase in followers (over 100) with 36% of the new followers being identifiable as UC academics or postgraduate students.
