Can you help the Orientation team?
Do you have an excess of small cacti/succulents or small easy care plants?
For Orientation Day 2019 the library Orientation team will be making plant study buddies for students to take away.
This idea came the Instagram post (pictured below) that Juliet did a while back. It was very popular and received lots of positive feedback from our Instagram followers.
We thought this was a sweet way to welcome our new students who may be feeling lonely and overwhelmed. The plant is something that can grow with them throughout their journey at UC.
If you do have some plants to donate please give them to either Juliet or Zina in the Central Library workroom.
Thank you!
I have a couple of spider plants that could be potted up…if you have the wherewithal.
We’ll take it 🙂
I think I have some baby aloes. I also have lots of empty pots of various sizes if they’re of any use.
When would you like the plants?
We are doing the study buddy giveaway next year for orientation, but if you don’t have space for them we can take them now 🙂 we would love the baby aloes they would be perfect.
If you are able to keep the plant babies until after Christmas and bring them in when we all come back to work would be ideal.
We have a table in central library to keep them on and I will look after them until orientation.
Juliet
Yes please Jo! You can bring them in whenever you like. In terms of pots we are going to pop them in some paper coffee cups that Lisa got from the Op shop. 🙂
I have HEAPS of different succulents. I will start sticking them into small pots over Christmas and bring them in to Central in the New Year. Gabrielle 🙂
Thanks so much Gabrielle!!
Zina
I have a couple of giant succulents that I can take cuttings from and put in water till they grow roots. I don’t have any potting mix though.
Thanks Lydia, we can get potting mix, are you able to bring them in after the holidays? 🙂
