New Interloans system now live

Kia ora koutou

We are now live with our new Interloans system, Tipasa.  We have updated the Interloans webpages.  There are 2 new  sections  in the Interloans service information that give information on how to use the new patron interface – How do I request an interloan? and New Interloans system FAQ’s.

“Request an Interloan” links/buttons from Multisearch and 360 link Article Linker/Citation details screens have also been updated to point to the new system – these are the best way for people to place requests as they will feed citation information through to the request forms.

Some things to be aware of:

We anticipate people may struggle when logging into their Interloans account as the username format is not what most people are used to – the format is UCusername followed by @canterbury.ac.nz e.g. abc123@canterbury.ac.nz.
People using IE or Edge browsers will be auto-logged in with the login used to login to the computer they are using – this is potentially a pitfall for shared computers.  In this instance we advise using a different browser.  In most cases logging out of the Interloans account isn’t enough – the browser session must also be closed to complete logout (depending on browser settings the cache may also need clearing).

In communication preferences people can opt to get text message notifications. This isn’t actually working yet (we’re unable to remove the option) – it should be set up in early 2019 .  Please encourage people to stick to email for now.

If we’ve missed any areas that also need updating or you spot any problems please contact e-services.

Ngā mihi,

Romy (on behalf of e-services)
