Kaitakawaenga Ako role

Kia ora koutou,

We are seeking to fill our Kaitakawaenga Ako role until the beginning of August 2019.  We are looking for a person who can deliver library services that support the learning, teaching and research needs of Māori staff and students at the University of Canterbury.

The role of the Kaitakawaenga Ako is to:

  • Deliver professional subject librarian services, with a focus on services to Māori staff and students in particular, to the College of Education, Health and Human Development.  Services include research support, information literacy instruction and consultations.
  • To support the specialist needs of students and staff in academic research, study and enquiry into Te Ao Māori.
  • Develop Māori Classroom Collections and Māori Collections for teacher education programmes that meet the requirements of NZ early childhood, primary and secondary education curricula.
  • Work flexibly to support the overall objectives of the Learning, Teaching & Research Support team.

The role is currently full-time, but other alternatives may be considered.  This position is fixed term for 5-6 months and will be filled internally.
