Kia ora koutou,
this years Orientation theme is focused on student wellness, promoting our 3 library locations and manaakitanga – everybody is welcome. The O team have been busy putting together a number of fun prizes and activities that support our theme. These include –
- Postcards – there were 7 new postcards created that highlight the Library’s collection as well as one that showcases our Armson Collins Architectural drawings being inscribed into UNESCO.
- Library Fortunes – a light hearted take on something similar that was run last year. What will your library fortune be?
- O Day Stall – We will be having a Library Stall in the Undercroft at the Information Hub again this year, promoting the Library and our Social media platforms and giving away some goodies. Be sure to stop by and say hello or feel free to hang out and show students your friendly faces. We also have collateral over at the Welcome Centre (Matariki).
- Calming cards – these were created to give students some fun and relaxing ways to distress. From taking a walk, through to chair yoga and popping bubble wrap.
- Study Buddies – these were a way to give students something that they could keep that could ‘grow with them’ during their time at UC. We did choose mostly succulents, cacti and other hardie plants as well!
- Manaakitanga bags – these are lollie bags that are available at all 3 libraries for students until they are gone.
- Facebook competition – we are running 3 different competitions on facebook during these two weeks for people to go in the draw to win tote bags filled with all sorts of goodie s.
Ngā mihi,
