Back in 2015, we had some interns working on a project to conserve a donation of drawings by the 1930s Chch architect Cecil Wood. Now, thanks to a huge amount of work by E-services, the drawings have been uploaded to Kā Kohika.
They are really really stunning. Look at the beautiful Tai Tapu Memorial Church, or this chair design, or this living room.Or search all of them by entering ‘Cecil Wood’ into the search bar of Kā Kohika
(The first page doesn’t have any images, but you can see them from page 2 on).
I cannot stress enough how grateful I am to Bronwyn Collins for her work on this.
Please share this info with anyone you think would be interested. They can contact me directly to find out more about the collection.

This was a great team effort involving many people across the library! Thanks so much to everyone who contributed – Donna and Nicole with the image processing, Peter K with his Minisis imaging know-how, Romy and Margaret for their help with the data import and programming wizardry, Erin for her excellent knowledge of the collection and overall coordination, the wonderful MB staff for their patience over the last couple of weeks whilst I took over the reading room and most of all, the wonderful interns for their amazing work! Ngā mihi maioha!
Thanks so much to all of you who worked on this project, which has allowed us to share these amazing drawings with a much wider audience than we otherwise could through physical access.
A huge amount of creativity and problem solving has gone into making this happen.
This is wonderful! Such a lot of work has been done to bring this to fruition!
