Kia ora koutou
We have had a few reports of people not getting directly to articles when clicking full text links in Multisearch, instead they are taken to the journal homepage. This is a consequence of delays in getting new 2019 database packages linking indexed in the knowledge base that Multisearch uses for most full text linking. It happens every year around this time as we de-select the previous year’s package and select the new ones in Intota (our e-resource management system).
The table below gives some indication of affected publishers – I’ve marked the ones I know we are tracking with an *. The main database packages currently affected are the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection 2019, Wiley Online Library Database Model and Oxford Journals Current Collection. If you are teaching Multisearch to students it may pay to avoid examples from these packages where possible. In theory Wiley should come right by the end of Feb.
The table comes from an Ex Libris knowledge centre article – https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/360_KB/Knowledge_Articles/Annual_Collections_2019
