Te Reo Māori / Kapa Haka

Kia ora mai tātou.

I just wanted to share a wee pānui with you about what te reo Māori initiatives are happening on campus this year for staff and students.

Tuesdays 12pm-1pm @ Rehua (Te Moana nui ā Kiwa): Kapahaka for staff and students. This session is for beginners as well so everyone is welcome! For example this week we started learning a simple waiata that the College of Ed uses a lot, as well as the actions to go along with it.

Tuesdays 2pm-3pm @ Aotahi (in the foyer): Café Reo for staff and students. This is lead by Jeanette King and Mary Boyce who are reo experts, a great place to kōrero and  ask pātai about all things reo Māori!

Thursdays 12pm-1pm @ Rehua (108: Community Engagement Hub): Reo Māori café led by Te Hurinui Clarke. This session is great for beginners and practicing what you have learnt in class. Each session will be based on a theme with sentence structures to help you kōrero.

If you are feeling a little whakamā/shy, or want to know more about what is involved, come and have a chat with me.

Kia kaha e hoa mā!

Nā Lisa.
