A reminder that the old LexisNexis platform will be turned off THIS Sunday… as far as John, Kim and I are aware there is one link to this left on the Law Subject Guide – I will delete this on Monday morning.
I have also emailled all 200-level and above Law and Criminal Justice students to tell them to stop using it too..
For nostalgia’s sake here is what we are farewelling… in all it’s “oh wow we can do stuff on the World Wide Web 1990’s glory…”
I remember searching LexisNexis when it was owned by Mead Data Central, on a little green screen in a small room on Level 6 of JHL (as it was then) with arcane command prompts – and when you were charged per line printed (or displayed).
The terminal used phone lines to connect – no network in our library then.
I remember living in a cardboard box in the middle of the road 🙂
