Like 2017 and 2018, the library is doing T&F EBA eBook program in 2019 again. With EBA, UC students and staff can access 571 T&F eBooks across a wide range of subjects, plus 349 engineering eBooks from ENGnetBASE for 12 months. At the end of that period (April 2020), we will use the usage data collected to select and purchase the most popular titles up to the amount we pre-paid.
All those eBooks in the EBA program are DRM free, unlimited, multiuser access. Individual eBook bibliographical records are available in both the Catalogue and MultiSearch.
When deciding what to buy in April 2020, in addition to high use, is it possible to identify whether lecturers have linked to any of these titles in LEARN? It’s not a good look when electronic resources suddenly “die”, particularly in the middle of a semester!
Good thought, John! We will check those titles not kept in due course. For various reasons, this year’s EBA program was delayed to implement for 2 months. In the last 2 years, were tidied up in mid Feb. — before the new semester started.
Useful looking list, thanks Wendy.
Is is possible to run a report of overlap with our existing ‘holdings’ at all?
As John points out we may not want to pull the plug on access mid-semester. Dave C.
We have checked our holdings before adding titless to the EBA pool, except few titles are intentionally duplicate because they have had high turnaway — e.g. held 3 user ProQuest eBook
