Ever wondered what’s involved in protecting over $50M of treasured heritage collections? Always wanted to see what’s behind the scenes at MB? Threats from earthquakes, floods, fires, pests, human interference and something called ‘inherent vice’ must all be protected against so that we can pass our treasures on to the next generation. This means we need some pretty robust storage infrastructure, and we have been embarking on a long term programme of upgrades to our storage areas. If you haven’t been to the library warehouse for a while you may not recognise it!
For this session you’ll be taken on a behind the scenes tour to have a peek at some of the storage areas at MB, then over to the warehouse to admire our improved storage areas and hear about our future plans for improvement
