Kia ora e te whānau Puna,
Over the term break I will be holding Mana Reo sessions in the usual place at the usual time (Te Puna Ako, L4 of Puaka James Hight, 11am-12pm), but with 2 sessions especially for Library Staff.
Monday 26 August – Wharewhare: Come along for some friendly/competitive bingo! All levels of te reo Māori are welcome to participate – don’t by whakamā (shy) as there will be ‘cheat-sheets’ for you to use. There will also be chocolately prizes up for grabs!
Monday 2 September – Using Tī Kōuka to make string/rope. These are skills I learnt from a resourcefulness workshop run by ReKindle at the Arts Centre. In this session we will use cabbage tree leaves to create string/rope, but also some new kupu along the way. Tī Kōuka kindly sourced, prepared and gifted by Jack, and kapu tī/kawhe/pihikete also provided, but please bring along some scissors.
Both sessions are meant to be informal and fun, so nau mai haere mai!
Ngā mihi, Lisa.
