Another round of security patches this weekend. ITS are recommending that before leaving on Friday night you open Software Centre, select Updates and start them installing. Log out but leave your machine running. This will save time on Monday.

Customer services staff may find that Dayend doesn’t run. Check the logs and if necessary run by hand before doing notices.

Updates will install automatically on Friday 30 August  @ 10pm and a restart will be enforced during the update process.

In order to ensure Windows computers patch smoothly, we are recommending staff and postgraduates start installing updates and log out of their computers when they finish work for the week. If a computer is off or in sleep mode overnight, updates will be installed the next time the computer is powered on.
