Further to our update 21 October, there are now restrictions affecting off campus access to Stuff Ltd content on PressReader. Here is the latest update from EPIC.

This email is an update to the EPIC Update that I sent out on 14 October notifying EPIC member libraries that Stuff Ltd will be limiting access to a range of titles delivered to New Zealand libraries through PressReader.
The initial communication from PressReader was that access to the Stuff content would only be removed from the PressReader app. Unfortunately, this was a miscommunication.
Stuff Ltd are in fact limiting all “offsite” access to this content. This means that library patrons will no longer be able to access Stuff titles using the library website remotely or logging into PressReader using their library card credentials outside of the library.
Stuff Ltd titles will still however, be available for access by patrons “on-site” via the PressReader website at www.pressreader.com either via the library network or when connected to the libraries HotSpot via the public WiFi .
As with the previous update I provided about this, I am sending this update email out to ensure that this information gets to as many people that need to know as possible.
In addition, LIANZA are in the process of putting together a statement on behalf of New Zealand libraries about the impact of this situation for New Zealand libraries and their patrons. If you have feedback that you would like to contribute to this, please either email it to me and I will forward it on to LIANZA or email LIANZA directly at officeadmin@lianza.org.nz.
