An update since our last post on COVID-19.
- A UC staff FAQ has appeared which has lots of useful information and a strangely fascinating list of cleaning practices in PJH.
- Managers have updated the Business Continuity Plan (available K/Health-Safety/disaster_response/ContinuityPlan/Library-Continuity-Plan-V10.docx )

Feel free to ask any questions as this is a fluid situation and things are changing daily.
Speaking of the cleaning practices in Central, are there plans to clean the stairwells more frequently (tbf, a unenviable task)? They seem to be done each term, based on the breeding cycle of dust bunnies, and they’re looking quite dirty already.
I don’t believe there are plans to increase the stairwell cleaning. I think at the moment it would be fairly low priority given the focus on higher traffic locations like the Undercroft and large lecture theatres which pose more of a health risk.
There was a cleaner vacuuming up the dust bunnies this morning 🙂
The West stairwell (at least) is going to be cleaned on Wednesday morning, in preparation for the Tower race. 🙁
So a temporary improvement at least!
There is a special cleaning plan for PJH being put in place for high use areas, doors, water fountains, toilets, high use surfaces etc. More hand sanitisers coming and will be fixed to walls (to stop them escaping). A fogging machine is being investigated.
