Kia ora koutou
Just a heads up if you have booked Kauri or Pohutakawa and planned on using the PC attached to the screen for a meeting.
These rooms have been converted to Zoom rooms and a device is now required to present/share screen from. We were a bit caught out by this in our meeting in Kauri today – fortunately one of the participants had a laptop with HDMI port.
It is possible to present via Zoom app if your device doesn’t have a full size HDMI port – see https://www.canterbury.ac.nz/its/knowledge-base/video-conferencing/#46766 for info on how to use the Zoom tablets in the rooms.
I’ve logged an assyst job to clarify if there is any way to get around this and use the PC itself but suspect the answer will be ‘no’.
In PJH Totara, Poutama and 210 still have PCs that are accessible.

AV have just answered my question and their response was – yes you do need to bring a device if you want to present anything on the tv screens in those rooms. They were looking at converting Totara too but decided not to for now (their main aims are spaces on the central booking system that could be used for teaching). They’ve noted that we would like to still have direct access to the computer in meeting rooms if possible (at least for Totara).

Romy
We were caught out by the lack of ability to use the Chat function on the Zoom Room iPad (have raised an Assyst ticket and this is being investigated)
Reply from ITS: the Chat function is not available on the Zoom Room iPad, although it might appear in a future upgrade.. You should be able to view the chat onscreen, just not be able to interact with it on that device.
