You will have heard the sad news of Nekerangi’s passing and we’re receiving many expressions of aroha for him and his whanau.

It feels like MB has lost its most precious tāonga.

Due to covid, there are restrictions on numbers for tangihanga and this will be very difficult for his whanau to manage. We don’t yet know when we will be able to pay our respects, or how many people from UC will be able to go to the marae. A small group may be able to go out tomorrow.

Many of you will be feeling really sad, and you are most welcome to drop in to MB and have a chat with us about your memories of Nekerangi. I am also happy to take cards or written messages or koha to pass on to his whanau. You can pass these on to me or a member of the MB team (no flowers though please).
