Team Leader Customer Services appointment

We are pleased to welcome Yang Song who has been appointed as Team Leader Customer Services, covering for Rā while she is at MB. Yang (pronounced Young) starts on Monday 15 March 2021. This is a secondment agreement between Christchurch City Council and UC till June 2021. Yang is a library professional, and brings a wealth of leadership and engagement experience having been responsible for:

  • Leading a large team;
  • Interagency Network of Refugees and Migrants (INFoRM) for continuous library advocacy and community development information sharing;
  • Leading library multicultural events and programmes such as Lunar New Year, Chinese Language Week in collaboration with external agencies;
  • Programmes Events and Learning team to deliver quality programmes to the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse and wider communities;
  • Leading Makerspace operation through research, collaborative strategic planning with specialists, trial and error. Confident with creative suite software such as Adobe, Premiere Pro, and emerging technologies such as laser and vinyl cutters, 3D printers, sewing machines and overlocker, T-shirt press, vacuum former, virtual reality units, digital cameras, PA systems, AV studio equipment.
