Engagement and Learning Support team (Customer Services changes)

The Customer Services Review on Future Direction has been completed. The changes reflect the re-positioning of the team to respond to global changes in higher education and to ensure we can continue to provide responsive and relevant services that support UC’s strategic priorities. Part of the changes include:

Team name

The team name changed from Customer Services to Engagement and Learning Support (ELS).

The Engagement and Learning Support team provides students, staff and visitors with a first point of contact for on-campus and online Library support and ensures the Library learning spaces are fit for purpose, safe and welcoming, accessible and support learning by doing (Te Rua Makerspace), blended learning and online learning that advances student retention, wellbeing, experience and academic success.

Position descriptions and position titles

Position descriptions will be updated. Position titles now include:

  • Kaiāwhina | Library Collections Assistant (was Library Customer Services Assistant)
  • Kaiāwhina | Student Library Assistant (no change)
  • Kaiāwhina | Library Assistant (no change)
  • Kaiāwhina |Assistant Librarian – Environment (was Assistant Librarian)
  • Kaiāwhina | Assistant Librarian – Learning (was Assistant Librarian)
  • Kaiāwhina | Assistant Librarian – Engagement (was Assistant Librarian)
  • Kairuruku Wāhi Auaha | Engagement and Learning Librarian (was Makerspace Facilitator)
  • Poutoko Ratonga Kiritaki | Team Leader Engagement and Learning Support (was Team Leader Customer Services)
  • Kaiwhakahaere Ratonga Kiritaki | Manager Engagement and Learning Support (was Manager Customer Services)

The Engagement and Learning Librarian is currently being recruited.

The Assistant Librarian – Learning and Assistant Librarian – Engagement will be advertised externally.
