Summon have released a facet filter, differentiating between physical books and eBooks. This has now been turned on and is available through MultiSearch.

You will see the two new options  ‘Physical Book in Library Catalogue’ and ‘eBook Full Text Online’ within the ‘Refine your search’ filter.

Summon have explained that physical books are identified if a) a record is a physical record in the client’s catalogue and is the content type “Book”, or b) a record is a logical record which has a participant record that satisfies the conditions for a), then it will be included in the Physical book facet.

To identify eBooks, if a record is marked as “Full Text Online” and is included in the Book/eBook content type facet filter, then it will be included in the eBook facet.
