Te Rua Makerspace
Te Rua staff have been busy assembling craft bags for the care packs provided to the hundreds of students isolating with Covid-19. To date, over 1000 craft packs have been sent out to isolating students. This was a fabulous opportunity for the makerspace team to engage with a large captive audience who may not have had much interaction with Te Rua before. Makerspace staff hope to have plenty of interested students check out Te Rua in person when they have fully recovered!
Design work
Newly designed UC Puna postcards were printed, and dispatched to each library this month. Each of the five unique designs were taken from the art and archive collections at Macmillan Brown library. The postcards are available for anyone to collect, and have been very popular already. Thanks to Zina for her amazing mahi!
The marketing team created a new welcome banner design. The banner includes vibrant images of all three libraries, which were designed by our very own graphic designer, Ryan!
Social Media
Earlier this year Ryan initiated a ‘kupu of the week’ segment on the library’s Facebook page. This great initiative celebrates the use of te reo Māori in an engaging library-related context. Ka rawe Ryan!
