Kia ora koutou,
Many of you have noticed the pigeon mess outside the door to the undercroft by the sushi restaurant. This is foul (fowl??), unhygenic and a slip hazard in wet weather.
There has been some cleaning of the area, however facilities management are seeking a more permanent solution.
Any further BEIMs requests about this will be rejected, as the solution is imminent (she writes hopefully). I will keep an eye on the situation and follow up with FM if necessary.
ngā mihi,
Sara
I look forward to a permanent solution to this problem as it impacts both our Health and Safety.
Thanks Maria
Agreed, Maria. Not only is it a slip hazard, but it is also unhygienic and means the droppings are being tracked into the building on our shoes. It’s also only a matter of time until someone has an unfortunate experience with a pigeon above them too 🙁

One possible interim solution?
Good to see a few of us tried on BEIMS anyway :-). To my sloppy way of thinking they could do a kludge with a piece of something like this and a bit of wood bolted onto the top of the door as a quick interim thing to catch the worst of it. But it sounds like onto anyway so thanks Sara for the update. https://www.bunnings.co.nz/sunlite-1800-x-690mm-light-blue-pvc-roofing_p0804095
