Tēnā koutou katoa,
Last night the Macmillan Brown Team held a small event with Nekerangi Paul’s whānau and former staff of the Macmillan Brown Library. At this event, a beautiful portrait of Nekerangi was unveiled on the threshold to the Aotearoa Room along with a tuhinga that recognises Nekerangi’s significant and lasting contribution to the development of Macmillan Brown Library, UC Libraries and UC as a whole.
The event was small, following the advice of Te Waka Pākākano, but I know many more people across the library will have fond memories of Nekerangi and would like the opportunity to reflect on their memories of working with him. Please come and visit the Macmillan Brown Library to see Nekerangi’s portrait and read the tuhinga written by Corban Te Aika.
Ngā manaakitanga,
Fiona
