Research Seminar: Hello it’s me….but it’s not!

Kia ora tātou,
Herb de Vries in the School of Business recently presented to staff on his use of avatars and animation in MGMT100 (800 students).

We now have the opportunity to see his engaging presentation too! Blurb below.
All most welcome.

There will be kai, but please bring your own cup.
There will be an Outlook invite for catering purposes.

“Hello it’s me…. but it’s not!”

In the growing online experience delivered at UC, the question is often debated. “How do we effectively engage with this online cohort?” I don’t have the answers but what I’d like to share with you is the use of personal avatars and movement in online lectures.  Does this engage the students or is it just a gimmick that distracts from the learning? I’d like to discuss this question and my experiences with personal avatars and movement in this presentation.

Ngā mihi

Kim
