I’ve just added a new category “Fixed” into Counterculture.
This is for all those “it’s broken”, or “there’s a problem with …” postings, after they are fixed. This way they can be cleared out of other categories, but still be available for later reference. They won’t display on the new Camelot page.
So if you are putting up an “it’s broken”, or “there’s a problem with …” posting, please put it in the relevant Library category to begin with, but once the problem is fixed, put a comment on the posting saying so, but also edit the original posting to change the category to Fixed. See also instructions on how to edit a posting.

Ooh, nice fix!

One for the US financial markets?
Given they all seem to be branch specific aren’t people more likely to look under branch?
There seems to be so many categories now it is a bit of a blur and everything posted seems to be either branch specific or relevant to all branches – Is that not enough categories?
I agree that too many categories is a potential problem, but the idea for the Fixed category is to clear the decks on Camelot of postings that have lost their relevance. I didn’t want these postings to be deleted, but it’s a way of putting them aside.

Would you please add the category Electronic Resources to Counterculture.
Also, it would be good to be able to see the Recent Entries listed in the right panel of Camelot pages. This was a most useful feature and I didn’t expect that it would disappear with the change in Camelot News.
Deirdre
Reinstating the recent entries in the right panel of Camelot pages is more difficult than it might seem. I did consider it, but because of the technicalities of templates, ssi, php, html and the differences between the way Camelot news worked and the blogs work, it would require re-uploading every page on Camelot that has this ssi in the right nav bar.
To get around this I could upload Camelot as a whole, but there are concerns about doing this as well.
We discussed this in Library IT, and decided that it would be better to encourage people to use Counterculture directly, or to use the rss feature.
This decision could be revisited after I get back from leave in mid October.
I’ve added an Electronic Resources category, but any work you want done to get these items to display on any other pages will have to wait until I get back from leave.
Catherine
One of the problems with this approach is that it is usually not the same person who notes it is fixed that has posted the item in the first place and given some people are only here part time it may be a while before they are cleared anyway.
Also when I try to login again to change to "Fixed" I get…
"An error has occurred!
No such blog
Close Window"
Adam, I’ve been getting the same error. However, if I close the window and click "edit" a second time, then it works.
I’ll follow up this problem with Catherine when she returns from leave.
