Kia ora koutou
We have discovered an issue with LibCal appointments (app behind the “make an appointment” buttons for library staff) whereby if people select a slot to book, fill out the booking form and submit they get a message “The booking time became unavailable. Try again, thanks!”.
This only happens when library staff have their Appointments set up to sync with their Outlook calendars with the “Yes, check my calendar for busy times and hide any LibCal availability timeslots when I’m busy.” set on. This, when working properly, checks Outlook and removes any appointment slots where the staff member is now “busy” in Outlook. It’s not doing what it should and instead just blocks anyone from completing the appointment process. Unfortunately this setting is used by most library staff.
We’ve submitted a support request to Springshare but they’re in the US and not yet at work for the day so this could take a bit of time to resolve.
In the meantime, if you really need students to be able to make bookings with you, you can uncheck the Check Free/Busy Times check box in the Integration tab of Appointments. You’ll then need to go in to Appointments Availability tab and manually remove slots (click on the slots) that correspond to times you are busy in Outlook.

This issue has now been fixed by Springshare. Please let eServices know if you are still experiencing appointments problems.
