The water coming out of the tearoom sink taps in the tearoom is brownish and brackish. (The filtered water is okay). It smells chlorinated so it may just be that (?) but a BEIMS has been placed this morning to check.

All hail Kiera, the Queen of Memes
Her post on the Library Facebook page with a cartoon differentiating the different types of procrastinators has gone, for want of a better word, viral.
While our usual posts reach 800-1500, this post has a reach of 218,000 and climbing.

APA Week!
Once again the most awesome week of the year is almost upon us: APA Week: March 19-23
So, if you see a student(s) whose bibliography is worrying you (not least, because it should be a reference list), alert them to the following:
- Daily APA Workshops taught by APA master, John Arnold
- Daily APA tips on Facebook
We’ll also be promoting AskLIVE as a good place to ask questions, so prepare for the onslaught.

Library Service on Dovedale Campus
An Education Subject Librarian and a Customer Services Team member are now based in Kōtuku from 11-1pm, Monday to Friday. We can help with drop-in consultations, advice on how to use the library, guidance on distance services, catalogue help and much more.
We started this service this week and need to get the word out to students. So if you have queries from students based on Dovedale who need to speak to someone in person, please promote this service. I’ve created this map that can be used to direct people.
Don’t feed the bird
For the next couple of months we’re trialling adding content to the UC Library Twitter Account that is directed at PG students and academics. This means content about research, data management, open access, scholarly publishing and more.
We want to be able to use the twitter stats to test whether there is an appetite for this content. Therefore, it would be very helpful if staff could refrain from like, retweeting or responding to tweets on the UC Library Twitter Account. (This is a lesson learned from our Facebook project last year!).
I’ll post again when the trial is over so y’all can go back to like, retweeting and commenting;)
Waiata for Level 4 Morning Tea
We will sing a waiata tomorrow as part of welcoming CoEHHD academics and students to Level 4.
I’ve chosen the CoEHHD College song: Whakarongo Ake Au.
It would be good if everyone who is coming along could have a listen /practice of the song (it’s nice and low!)
Youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMtI2Vy9IxY (In the video they sing it twice, but we will sing it once)
Lyrics:
Whakarongo rā (I listen)
Whakarongo ake au (I listen, where up high)
Ki te tangi a te manu (A bird flies)
E rere runga rawa e (Its cry rings out)
Tui, tui, tui, tuia (Sew, stitch, bind it together)
Tuia i runga (From above)
Tuia i raro (From below)
Tuia i roto (From within)
Tuia i waho (From outside)
Tui, tui, tuia (Sew and bind it together)
Kia rongo te ao (During the day)
Kia rongo te pō (And the night)
Tui, tui, tuia (Sew, stitch, bind it together)
Look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
