Oxford Reference Online – access problems
Oxford Reference Online has been relaunched on a new platform. There are some titles that we are unable to access at present. We have contacted Oxford about this and they have
replied:
“There seems to be an issue with the Pocket Dictionaries series on ORO at the moment as we’ve had a few other reports of institutions being locked out of these titles. It is being investigated at the moment.”

New SpringerLink platform
Springer will migrate users from New Zealand to the new SpringerLink platform on Monday September 10, 2012. This means that users within this region will automatically be sent to the new platform when choosing SpringerLink. These changes will be visible as of September 11, 2012.
There is not expected to be any interruption or downtime during the migration. IP’s will be recognized and redirected.
What’s new?
1. Speed – SpringerLink delivers pages 3 times faster than before
2. Mobile optimization – responsive design of headers and menus allows for optimal browsing on a desktop, tablet or phone without losing any essential functionality

ProQuest maintenance time – Sunday 19 August
ProQuest will be performing infrastructure maintenance on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 2.00 pm. A twelve (12) hour window will be required for this maintenance.
The following products will be unavailable during these windows:
• ProQuest platform products,
• Chadwyck-Healey products with domain names ending with chadwyck.com
• Illumina products such as Sociological Abstracts

We have purchased the Momentum Press e-book collection which has 45 titles in the following subject areas: Sensor Technology, Applied Science, Mechanical and Energy Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Manufacturing Automation and Control, Construction, Civil and Environmental Engineering. Access is unrestricted (no DRM).
