If you start seeing strange web pages – either for the Library or the University – where all the headings are lined up in a column against a dark or black background there are two possible easy fixes:
First check if you have compatiblity view. If so you will see a small wavy blue icon in the address bar. Click on it once and then let the page reload.
Alternatively you can clear your cache and restart the browser.
Contact eServices if you have this problem and the above doesn’t fix it.
Thanks, Peter K
If anyone has a pile of spare internal envelopes (large or small size), can they please send them to the Customer Services team in the Central Library. We have run out!
Thanks,
Angela.

(and read the previous article also if you need Horizon reports)
I have been talking to ITS staff and we think the problem is to do with permissions – the Wiki is controlled by groups and it seems as if our names are not going into groups correctly. Hopefully now we have a lead on what the problem is, ITS can find a solution reasonably soon.

ITS are working on the network connections in Engineering.
Because of this, on Monday 8th December, there will be a period of about 5 minutes when much of Engineering including the EPS Library will not have network connections. This will occur sometime after 1 pm.
There will be other, longer outages later but these will be after the EPS Library has closed for the day.
Kia ora,
Just in case anyone missed it- (went live a few weeks ago) check out the Marsden Online Archive- https://marsdenarchive.otago.ac.nz/
A collaboration between Te Uare Taoka a Hâkena (Hocken Library) and the University of Otago Centre for Research on Colonial Culture resulted in the creation of this online archive which is of national significance. Containing Marsden’s letters and journals, as well as the papers of other early NZ missionaries that are held in the Hocken Collections at the University of Otago Library. 599 of these letters and journals have been made available on the Marsden Online Archive to date. It truly is a treasure trove.
More information on Samuel Marsden, the Bay of Islands in 1814 to 1823, the Church Missionary Society and the early Mâori Language can be found in these links.

The Catalogue will be unavailable for 15 minutes today (Monday) from 2.30 pm. We are trying to sort out an indexing problem.
Multisearch is not affected.
Thanks, Peter K
Thrill of the week: a new lot of exam papers are online. But wait! There was drama at the final hour and a “security breach” necessitated the emergency reprinting of 7 papers! These rarities have been acquired and cunningly integrated into the originals in a process so deft and skillful that a Freddo chocolate frog goes to anybody who can find one.

We have problems accessing Emerald journals at the moment. Peter H is looking into this.
