The National Digital Forum conference is held each year at Te Papa in Wellington, where professionals of the GLAM sector (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) gather to share knowledge and to discuss the key themes, issues and emerging trends in our industry. I was lucky enough to attend this year’s conference, held on 20-22 of November.
I will be holding a staff development session on Monday, 11th of December, 2-3pm (Puaka-James Hight rm 210) about my NDF experience, what I learned and the opportunities and challenges I see for UC in the rapidly evolving information environment.
For more information and to register, please see the event on the staff development calendar –
I came across something which surprised me during my archiving work this morning and it really made my day!
Some of you may know that I am lucky enough to be working on the RDU archives collection. This morning I was looking for some dates amongst some meeting documents for the Student Radio Network from 1994 and a name caught my eye….
As you can see in the image (I have hidden some information just in case!), the sales report for Radio One in Dunedin was written by a Keith Collins – who happens to be my uncle! I messaged him and he confirmed that he was indeed the author of this report and he thought it was rather cool that I happened to come across some of his work from over 20 years ago!
Thankyou to Erin for enabling me to work on the RDU archives collection – it has been an interesting journey!
And as Uncle Keith signed off his report in 1994….
