Haere rā, Old Library Catalogue

Kia ora koutou
After much to-ing and fro-ing, I am pleased? Sad? to report that the old ipac.canterbury.ac.nz server has been turned off. This was done late last week because [mumble cybersecurity mumble conniptions mumble can’t take this any more just make them go away mumble].
A redirect for any remaining links should be in place soon, but we have worked hard over the last couple of months to find all the ipac links lurking in LEARN, Subject Guides, and the UC website, so hopefully there won’t be many still out there. A notice that it was going to be shut down was placed on LEARN at the beginning of semester 2.
If you do come across any remaining lnks, please let eservices know – we can help to dissect the URL and recreate it in VuFind.
If you have any other questions, please let eservices know.
Ngā mihi,
Claire

Wiley access problem

We are having an ongoing problem with access to Wiley content off-campus and through the UC wifi. Open Athens and Wiley are working on it, but cannot provide a timeline: OpenAthens resource status page Status.

On campus access through UC computers or docking stations seems unaffected.

If you are contacted by anyone having issues with Wiley content, please let them know it is being worked on. We’ll need to suggest on-campus access or send them the articles directly, if an alternative source is not available.

Remote access maintenance

Kia ora koutou

Digital services are doing some maintenance work that will affect remote access.

When: Wednesday 5th July (today!), 5-9pm

What: Users will be disconnected twice if using go.canterbury.ac.nz during the upgrade but will be able to log back in immediately.

gostudent.canterbury.ac.nz will be unavailable for approximately 30mins during upgrade, after which you will need to log back in.

If you have access problems after 9pm today, please contact the ITS service desk, or raise a ticket in the Services Portal.

Ngā mihi,

Claire (on behalf of Library Systems)
