Access is from the Electronic Resources Trials page. Have a good play around with it as it is one of the options we are looking at for the provision of electronic access to newspapers for 2010. Please send in your comments: use the evaluation form on the Trials page, add comments to this post, or email them to me. All comments will be included in Camelot for reference.

EBSCOhost Mobile

EBSCOhost Mobile, the interface designed for mobile users, is now available. The interface is essentially the same but access to folders and some other more advanced features has been removed. All of our EBSCO databases are accessible via EBSCOhost Mobile but they require mobile-specific URLs.

Access has been set up so that users can go to the “Choose Databases” screen or directly to individual databases. These links will be added to Databases pages on Friday. EBSCOhost Mobile can be viewed on your PC or Donna is happy to provide screenshots from the real thing.

Journals Page

Serials Solutions has just made changes to the way their E-Journal Portal (the Journals page on the Library Web) can display. Instead of having the long list of databases at the bottom of the page, we can have a drop-down list:
 Journals page drop-downs

Selecting a database results in a link to connect to that database, along with any applicable public notes and terms of use links.

I would like to propose that we change our page accordingly. Please add your thoughts…
