Electronic Resources Updates

We now have access to Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy (REP)

Niustext, Knowledge Basket South Pacific, has been launched. Niustext consists of news and information resources of the South Pacific brought together into a searchable database. We have free access to try Niustext until July 9 2009.

New Zealand Electronic Text Centre has launched Legal Māori Archive, “a collection of more than 14,000 pages of around 250 19th century documents that illustrate the bi-lingual nature of New Zealand’s legal history.” The Legal Māori Archive is freely available to the public and can be accessed via the NZETC website.

The National Register of Archives and Manuscripts (NRAM), has been redeveloped and renamed as The Community Archive.

CCH is being updated later this month to the new IntelliConnect platform. A preview will be available from 15 June.

Safari Books Online

Safari titles can be swapped at any time. Please let me know or use the Recommendation Form if you would like to suggest an alternative title. Use the Company link at the bottom of any Safari page to find all Safari titles (the Whats New tab will give lists of Hot Titles or you can do a keyword search).

Infoshare

Infoshare, the replacement for INFOS, has now been fully updated. INFOS is still available until Wednesday 19 August 2009, after which time it will be decommissioned.

With Infoshare, you can now:

• find and download detailed exports and imports data (by HS code and country)
• save queries for reuse
• use time-series identifiers to find specific data.

The country groups function in the select variables screen for imports, exports and re-exports is currently unavailable. For example, country groups include APEC, OECD and ASEAN.

Annual Register Trial

We have trial access to the Annual Register until the end of May. Access is from the Electronic Resources Trials page on the Library Web.

Coverage / Backfile: Annual issues from 1758-2007 are currently available in The Annual Register online. In 2009 the 250th anniversary edition of The Annual Register will be published and this will be added to the online version before the end of 2009.
