We are receiving a number of reports that students are not able to login after adding funds to their Canterbury Card account. I have reported the matter to John, the ICTS callout staff member, and the he has since replied to say that a second message has been left for the IT specialist concerned.

Please use the Renewals number (x6198; or 3642198) to seek emergency casual, particularly before the library opens on Saturday and Sunday. At the weekend the best time to try is after 9:30am, and although we are a nimble bunch (well, most of us anyway), the sprint to the phone may take longer than expected! You may prefer to try phoning again a little later, but please, please, do not leave messages on personal work numbers. That staff person may not be at work that day and your plea may, unintentionally, go unheeded.

Janelle, from ICTS, has contacted us to say that some students and staff are experiencing problems accessing their email accounts. The suggestion is to shut down and restart the browser. If problems continue we have been asked to let the ICTS callout team know.

The locations of the Hold Shelf and Interloans (reference only material) have been swapped one for the other. The Hold Shelf is now along the back wall and Interloans by the entrance door.
The remote control for the large display monitor by the self-check machine, has been moved to the opposite end of the Lending Desk – in the yellow cabinet by the Lost Property cupboard.

New students can obtain their IT passwords from the ICTS Help Desk; the Card Co-ordinator, or by Nathan in The Loft. Please note that the Central Library no longer has the old ‘password machine’ that was once on Level 2.

Please note that the Card Office will do cards up until midday on 23rd December 2009. The Office will reopen in the UCSA building for External Borrower cards from Monday 11th January 2010. There will be no card services from Tuesday 5th to Friday 8th January 2010

I have just left a message for the ICTS callout technician as we are experiencing problems with loading funds via Eftpos and through the cash loaders.
Also – PaymentPlus is producing an error message ‘…failed to return balance for this identifier…’; and students have reported that their cards are not working at the photocopiers.

There appears to be a slight problem accessing the library wiki and the error message that results is headed “Shibboleth Session Creation Error”. Access seems to be intermittent so please just try again a little later as the problem may be with us for the remainder of the weekend.
I have spoken to Peter Kennedy and left a message for ICTS.
