ICTS have let us know that the server problems, mentioned in an earlier posting today, may not be fixed until 6pm tonight.

A scheduled IT upgrade that took place overnight was to have been completed by 10am this morning. We have since been informed by ICTS that the upgrade has now turned into a server Fault that may not be resolved until mid-afternoon at the earliest. Students will not be able to logon and those affected will have usernames that begin with ‘k’, ‘m’, ‘n’, and ‘o’.
Sandra
ICTS Callout have replied saying that network services have now been restored. If there any other lingering problems please me know so that we can help to keep ICTS informed.
Than you again,
Sandra
A number of students have reported problem accessing the Internet. We have not been able to send the Library Notices today – so far. I have spoken to Anne Scott, and logged the problem with ICTS callout.
Thank you,
Sandra
We now have a rechargeable torch for use in emergency situations. The torch can be found at the far end of the Lending Desk.

Some students, around a dozen reports so far, are not able to access the internet or do any printing after adding funds, but the problem does not seem to be related to a ‘-ve’ starting balance. There is no technician in ‘The Loft’ today. The problem has been reported to the ICTS callout technician who has since been referred the matter on to another ICTS staff member. If students wish to leave a message for the ICT Service Desk (6060), please remind them to leave some contact information too!
Thank you, Sandra
HIP failed overnight and was restored around 10am this morning – Saturday 26th September. Borrowers would not have been able to access the Library catalogue or My Library Account, and as a result they may have questions related to the inability to ‘renew’ library items.
Sandra
If there are any surplus stocks of Isopropyl alcohol anywhere could we have some for the Central Library, please. For keyboard cleaning…!
Thanks, Sandra
No notices will have been sent, although borrowers can check their own library account.
Access to the Institutional repository and Digital Library may be difficult.
Until notified otherwise please Do Not logout any PC that is already working…..Leave them logged on at the end of the day.
And please report any other significant difficulties to the Extended Hours Supervisor
There has been a major systems failure likely to affect University services over much of the long weekend.
