We like to give you what you want at the UC RecCentre, which is why we introduced specialised Zones, Zone Classes and Zone concession cards this year – finding you more ways to burn some energy or restore it. Read on to find out what these all are, how they can help you, and how to get a fabulous discount on our Zone Concession Card.
Why the Zone?
Boutique gyms and classes are ‘a thing’ and we’re giving you a taste of that experience, but on a student budget! Grab a single class token for $3 at reception, or commit to 10 classes for $27. And for the first two weeks of term, you can get 10 classes for just $20!
The Zen Zone is a beautiful and calming space where you can go to, well, just BE. There are beanbags, bolsters, blocks, blankets and straps that you can use in all manner of ways to lengthen, recover and restore the body via Yin or Restorative Yoga. Not sure what to do? Come along to a Yoga Restore class! It may not be as toasty as some heated yoga studios, but it does have everything you need. Max of 12 people, so lots of personal attention to get it just right.
The Fun Zone is a fun space for functional training with battle ropes, tyre flips, sledgehammers on the other tyre, ski machine, assault bike….time will fly! We offer Fit45 in the Fun Zone – think boutique studios like Orange Theory, F45, 9 Round…except without the price tag, fancy tv screens or the masses! 45mins, max 14 people, no running, instructor teaching and motivating you, great beats…what more do you need?
The Spin Zone is a darkened room, complete with black lights, disco lights and loud pumping music. Our instructors will expertly guide you through hills and flats, and have you amped to ride a bike! Best part? No rain or wind, just great music. We offer 30, 45 and 50min options, so just check the GF timetable.
Now, to the important bit…how to get in to a Spin, Fit45 or Yoga Restore? Simply head to reception, up to 40mins prior to class start time, and grab your token. You can either buy as you go at $3, or get a 10 class concession card for $27. We’ll even loan you a towel to wipe down all that sweat you’ll be dripping. Your concession card is loaded onto your RecCentre account, so you can check the balance online any time you like.

For the first two weeks of term, we have a super deal, where you can buy a concession card for just $20, with a limit of two per person. Yup, from Monday 29th April through to Sunday 12th May, every single one of you can get your hands on up to two concession cards for just $20 each. Sorted!
